January Transfer Window verdict?

Can anyone remember the last time we have not either let our better players go or be sold in the January window I.e. Rooney last season.

Re: January Transfer Window

I think we let Rooney go out on loan in jan last season as he had a clause in his contract which meant starting him would force us to extend his contract, which Deano obviously wasn't too keen on doing. As we were not going to really achieve anything i think it was done to save money ready for this season, same with Tilt to FGR.

It's nice to see the strengthening we've done this window and i'm sure one or two loanees will come in soon aswell. Keates's done a cracking job if you ask me.

It's been a very good window I feel.
No losses and only gains.
Things are running much better and feel as though they are improving on and off the pitch.

Interestingly I saw on Deva Chat that Chester are where we were with that 30 game clause where if any players reach it their contract extends 12 months - they are in a big mess whilst after many turbulent years, we have the ground lease back in our control and can now hopefully dig in for the future. Have to give DK credit - not many managers would pursue a target and make four bids - but he got his man in the end.

The year before when we only got rid of the showpony Dom Vose and then went on a long unbeaten run.

Get in before the lock.

Not to mention the complete overhaul of the squad he was tasked with in the summer, as of right now i must say things are looking good and we don't seem to have dug too deeply into our budget yet. Well Done DK.

If Quigley's out for a month we need two strikers.

Looking back im glad Rooney went. He had a decent spell for us after a very poor first few months but has done nothing for Guiseley.

He’s a player judged on his name, in my view. He’s nowhere near good enough to be spearheading a Conference midfield but I’d quite happily have him competing with Kelly for a spot in a midfield 3 with Wedgbury and Deverdics.

Looks like we're going short-term on the striker front again.

Keates loves a loan striker.
