I am personally dumbfounded how Askey does it every year - I had them down as relegation certs prior to the start of the season after last years squad was broken up - but he's done it again - it's a shame his excellent work is probably going to be undone by other factors beyond his control.

Thankfully we have a larger loyal, passionate fanbase that will back our club to the hilt which other clubs must envy - a great position to be in.

Just heard Gime Tourre has left them 'by mutual consent'.

The national league board will be desperately unhappy about the financial state of some of the teams in this league.

Hartlepool and Chester first, now Macc.

I won’t be surprised to see all three being required to provide financial bonds prior to beginning next season, whichever league they are in.
I believe the punishment for non production of s bond is immediate relegation from the National league system, NL, NL north and south.

dont think they have, the players have reported this from what I read on sky

Torquay too. They still have problems between an owner with a track record of asset stripping and their £2m+ loan debt.

Far too many clubs are losing the plot in this league. I'd say more clubs at this level need to be fan owned but then Chester just had to let the side down. Makes the rest of us look bad.

There’s a statement from the players on the fans website confirming this.

And yet last week they signed 3 players on loan. Strange.

It makes me think that Askey didn’t see this coming.

Agreed. Needs to be more sustainable as per the king and chief spokesman for sustainability Dale Vince.
