Without RP I don’t think we’d have a club now, when Hamilton and Guterman got their hands on our club Facebook wasn’t big then and this along with the Dismal Jimmies were instrumental to highlight what was going on.

In the end thst just degenerated into a poster called Sonofsam apparently flirting with some Gaynor from Swansea lol.

There also used to be an email news list. It was originally called RobinsReview, became RobinsNews, and later RedDragonsNews. I still have lots of them in my email archive, starting with Issue #48 of RobinsReview from 5 April 2000, which featured our Welsh Premier Cup triumph over Barry Town. There were several emails every week, with loads of info. They stopped once the club got its own proper website sometime in 2001. You can still view a big part of the archive here: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/RedDragonNews/info

What happened to that poster who made up flockists vs realists back in the Saunders era?

Timmy Turtle? Not seen him here for ages. He was always at away games down south too but not seen him for a while. Perhaps someone else can update? Think he was based Wimbledon area.

Timmy "wake up and smell the coffee" Turtle. Also remembered for falling UP the terracing at an away match.

Didn’t Rhys Gwynllyw run the webbed robin? Anyone know what he’s up to now?
Rhys Gwynllyw (the founder of The Webbed Robin) is Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at the University of the West of England, Bristol. I believe Peter Davies (the founder of the Red Passion fanzine) is still Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Huddersfield. I believe he went on to co-found a cricket fanzine after the demise of the Red Passion paper fanzine. And I think it was an American guy called Steven Rubio(?) that ran the old Wrexham ISFA (Internet Soccer Fans Association) e-mail list back in the mid-1990s. I seem to remember that he became a fan of Wrexham after reading the book "Twenty-Two Foreigners in Funny Shorts: The Intelligent Fan's Guide to Soccer and World Cup '94" described by one American reader as "The perfect intro for the American fan to the 'Beautiful Game'. This book successfully weaves a general description of the game, a review of all Word Cups prior to US 94, and the author's own passion for his local team - Wrexham, a Third Division Welsh club struggling to gain promotion to the Second Division in 1993. Pete Davies mixes these themes together masterfully. Despite these three unique threads, the book never seems jumbled or hodge-podge." I believe the author is a different Peter Davies to the Red Passion founder. Rhys and Steven were the Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's of their time. I can still remember being totally overjoyed when I first came across The Webbed Robin, I seem to remember Rhys used to type up (or perhaps OCR?) Wrexham news articles from the Evening Leader and Daily Post that I think his Dad used to mail him. This is in the days before either of those publications had a web site. So if you lived say 100 miles from Wrexham at that time you'd get no detailed news and would have to rely on 2 sentences on Teletext. The Webbed Robin was amazing in its day. Tons of detailed match reports and detailed news stories all lovingly curated. The Webbed Robin and the ISFA e-mail list were like going from the stone age to the electric age in one massive leap for fan-kind.

He was the original realist. Called the flockies infiltration way before the happy clappers emerged.

That was your lot, especially during the summer months.
For us exiles RedPassion is a godsend.

I lived in Kirkcaldy (Raith Rovers) in Scotland in the 80s, my dad used to send me copies of the old weekly Wrexham Leader, so I could keep “up to date” with the club. Saturday afternoons were spent refreshing ceefax.
