I must be missing something here.. surely it would be in each party's interest (Glyndwr, FAW and ourselves) to come to some agreement over sharing the facility. Be it financial, logistical, egotistical or jut plain common sense each party has something to gain and little to lose.

Owning our own site would of course be the ideal long term solution, but is anyone aware of the the term (and terms) of the current lease arrangement with the Council?

I thought restrictions were imposed on Colliers in the original planning application to prevent future expansion.

Wrexham Council have never concerned themselves with enforcing restrictions!

I'll be blunt, the FAW won't invest in anywhere and demand Wrexham use it, they wouldn't for Swansea or Cardiff either, do Newport train at Dragons Park? They're investing in it for FAW purposes. Yeah it was awful what has happened to us but it's a Wrexham issue, not an FAW one. They might be open to discussions for a cheap hire costs but they have to make money on it.

Wrexham haven't directly impacted the Welsh national team in a long time. The youth teams who are at Colliers have provided something such as Taylor, Ward and Maxwell but only Maxwell and Taylor had a run in the first team when we gave our young lads a chance about 6 years ago?. Although I really appreciate where the players have got us none of them are Welsh so they aren't a concern for the FAW. If we were bringing players through regularly we could say to the FAW we've got 8 Welsh lads eligible for the Welsh national team, we want to provide the best set up for them, can we work out an agreement?

its a bitter pill to swallow but we just have to forget about colliers. The current training facilities are more than good enough for this level and much cheaper to run. Dk has managed to bring in some very good players despite not having the colliers Park carrot to dangle

We should seriously have a look at the possibilty of using it, because you cant underestimate the importance of a nice training ground, it's where the players spend 95% of their time, and could probably make a difference when a players considering a move here.

I used to think that. But it can’t be the case can it. We have a better quality of players now than the past 4 or 5 years and yet we are in a lesser facility than back then. I think players are more bothered about the wages and length of contract than where they train. It’s no coincidence that since we have been offering longer contracts the quality of signings has been better
