Whatever happens, and there is a lot of luck involved, Keates has built a competitive squad from the "rubble" he was left with.

Instead of our target being "in and around" the play-offs we are "in and around" the top spot and I would be surprised if we don't at least finish in the playoffs. I would never have thought that at the beginning of the season. Still think Tranmere are favourites but we are definitely in with a chance.

Great work from Deano, things are looking promising.

To be honest, I never thought we would have a chance of promotion this season, after the Mills debacle I would have said this season was all about rebuilding, try and get in the playoffs (expecting to lose) and build on what we had this season to make a sustained challenge for top spot next season.

Following all Dean's endeavours through each transfer window, I am now full of hope that we can do it. I've been saying before Christmas that the squad we had back then should be capable of making the playoffs and with us being hard to beat, we would have a great chance to win them.

Now he has made some very good additions this window and with us starting to find the net. Defensively this team has always been sound, Dean has strengthened midfield now and with Boden providing the link up play that we were missing, with Holroyd, Miller and now Quigley benefitting from that, anything is possible.

I'm starting to believe we can do it, hopefully over 5000 others will be of the same opinion and turn up each week to see us go up.

Dean Keates' Red and White army!!!

You have to hand it to DK he gets on with the job quietly with his backroom team. He really could be the man who takes us back to the football league.

A certain ex-player said to me when we first signed Keates "this guy will get you out of that league".

When Keates retired, I did think "so much for the knowledge of former players"

Now I'm beginning to believe he was more astute than I gave him credit for.

Happy we are attracting players from around the country and not just within an hours commute
