Really annoying.
Agreed. Failed to get back into it after that.

Poor tactics and despite new signings the same underperformance.

Need to look at the training ground after today.

Not just yesterday but like last week we attacked well, played some nice football, scored a goal and then seemed to go into our shell and invited Guiseley onto us giving them lots of possession - it's a theme that has been going on all season - we sit so deep it's untrue. Last week, Guiseley couldn't unlock us but Halifax looked much more potent and could have gone away with all three points.
Have we actually been playing well ? I think not. The games we have won recently have been against teams near the bottom of the table - Torquay United, Hartlepool and Guiseley.
We are about to discover our true credentials - remembering that another common trait is we have not enjoyed one single win at home against any club in the top section of the league - lost to Macclesfield, draws against Sutton, Tranmere and Dover.
The next 3 games could be critical to our season - but we also need to develop a ruthless professional streak - there were strange elements of play yesterday particularly late in the second half with Pearson and Quigley out on the left wing trying to do things on their own - and yet Halifax exposed us on a number of occasions with their fast left winger.

Our play is still frequently bypassing the midfield with many balls played forward to isolated players who end up going sideways at best or more often backwards - and even when we get a numerical advantage we seem to slow the tempo down to walking pace allowing the opposition to get more men behind the ball - pace unlocks defences but we don't seem to have much in the right places.

Amazed that the near universal optimism on here in the last week has been completely destroyed by a slightly mediocre performance and a draw. What a fragile bunch we all are.

We look content to go one up and become difficult to beat but teams have that knack now to score against us!!

So I thought I'd look at where our downfall is. So, based on the table after today's fixture it's clear to me we have to try and turn draws into wins at home especially against lower placed team.

Home results -
17th L Orient - drew
18th Halifax - drew
19th Hartlepool - drew
20th Barrow- drew
21st Solihull - won
22nd Torquay - drew
23rd - Jester - not played
24th - Guiseley - drew

We have talked all season about the forward line, lack of creativity and with now 13 "cup finals" we have to start gambling a little bit more at home to secure 3 points. I feel whilst our home form is good it could turn out to be our achillies heel. Anyway, rant over. Sorry!

That's not a rant, that's pure common sense. Pity Keates does'nt recognise the fact.
