We look content to go one up and become difficult to beat but teams have that knack now to score against us!!

So I thought I'd look at where our downfall is. So, based on the table after today's fixture it's clear to me we have to try and turn draws into wins at home especially against lower placed team.

Home results -
17th L Orient - drew
18th Halifax - drew
19th Hartlepool - drew
20th Barrow- drew
21st Solihull - won
22nd Torquay - drew
23rd - Jester - not played
24th - Guiseley - drew

We have talked all season about the forward line, lack of creativity and with now 13 "cup finals" we have to start gambling a little bit more at home to secure 3 points. I feel whilst our home form is good it could turn out to be our achillies heel. Anyway, rant over. Sorry!

In my opinion it's all down to Keates either playing players out of position or not even playing them . Look at yesterday still Keates doesn't start White ( on a 2.5yr contract) doesn't start Raven who was brilliant when he came on for Jennings etc etc.
We have a much bigger squad now Keates so please start using it.

Good points.
DK could have brought Raven on and pushed Jennings forward into a LM slot and whilst this was another out of position problem it would have given us better balance than Deverdics on the left. I have always thought of him as a CM and like Kelly he seems totally lost at LM.

I can only assume Wright was injured and therefore not on the bench.

I don't see the point of Mackreth on the bench either and would rather have seen one of the youngsters.

Is Darlo as good as people make out considering the hole we've had in midfield all season, I mean at any level of football this is criminal.

Default Re: Home form will be our downfall.

Listening to the first half on RW we seemed to be coasting it and 3 points were in the bag. I'm sure those on here who put the blame on us sitting too deep are right but we now need to move on and as an earlier poster said get on the training ground and try something different.

We now have two massive Saturdays ahead of us. Come out of those unbeaten and we still have a chance of finishing top of the pile. (Don't forget next Saturday Aldershot are home to Macc, then Tranmere are home to Macc on the Tuesday.) It is also good to see a bit of a gap opening up between the top 9 and Ebbsfleet in 10th (5 points). I don't see anyone outside those 9 getting a play off place.

I'm looking forward to Sutton next Saturday and am far from despondent despite yesterday's result. I just hope that we turn up unlike my last match at Aldershot in November. We only lost 1-0 there last season when we had one of the poorest teams we have had in the Conference. Sutton also have to face the long trip up to Barrow in midweek. A draw is far from being out of the question. Reading comments on RP re Quigley's fitness I would not start him but leave him on the bench, especially on Sutton's 3G pitch. Let's hope we get something from this game and keep our promotion bid on track!
