The ref also booked their #2 for time-wasting at a throw-in, but they still got the throw-in.
And then didn’t even have a word with him in the second half when he clattered into Quigley when he’d knocked the ball past him.

No point moaning, as we know what to expect from officials in this league.

Today’s was particularly bad though, Rutherford’s red card debacle demonstrating that perfectly. It was clearly our throw-in. Ruthers didn’t even throw the ball away, he just threw it down in frustration. As others have said, I think he’d forgotten Rutherford was on a yellow, as that would NEVER have been a second yellow for a red.

Annoying, but we can’t blame the referee, we were way off the pace today.

4th officials fault. He was being assessed today though so he'll never officiate at this level again.

Think Rutherford saw the red and just ran off, rather than making a fuss. Red was up and down pretty quick so we assumed that Keates and 4th official hadn't seen it - leading to confusion.

Can't imagine Keates really tried to con the official this dramatically as there is no way that he would get away with it in the long-run, even in the unlikely event that he would have done today.

It looked a huge misunderstanding which the all the officials didn’t deal with.

However, they got there in the end so we can’t really complain.
He always works hard but he sadly lacks pace and quality. We have poorer players than Rutherford but the hard fact is we will struggle to challenge effectively with him starting.

He reminds me a bit of Joe Clarke - cannot dislike him but you just know deep down he should be on the bench.
I said that to a mate at the game today he is another Joe Clarke, works his socks off but lacks the quality to be a starter, he rarely beats a player and is always passing sideways or backwards we are lacking a creative midfielder still, still this is Wrexham we never do things the easy way. I commended on a thread yesterday when someone said we will steamroll Halifax that no such thing as an easy game and players always up their game for a new manager, I also said Macc weren't out of it others convinced they will fall away because of off field problems, it's a very even substandard league this season, dark horses Boringwood Fylde are all within range of catching us, but I've still a gut feeling we will go up, it's the Wrexham way do it the hardway.

We are making an already difficult task even more impossible by our inability to control games, especially at home. That was our 8th home draw, with 16 points dropped. DK now has a need to replace Rutherford; he also needs to be ruthless and drop Roberts and Kelly.

I fear we are in danger of letting an as yet undeserved promotion slip from our grasp. Hope I am wrong because I suspect the league will be more competitive next season, and folk may not be so inclined to donate their cash to another BTB.

Aren't yellow cards used for infringements? Surely that should have resulted in us getting the throw in?

Nope. A player gets a yellow card for taking his top off to celebrate a goal but it's not a free kick.

When a Goalkeeper gets booked for time wasting the opposition don't get possession of the ball.
