He's clearly a wum, who's to say he's even a Chester fan and if he is, is not representative of most decent fans from all teams, they need help as we once did. Dropping a pound or two into the bucket isn't compulsory but letting people know you won't put in does no one any favours at all.

Over recent months the footballing family have faced the harsh reality of life and how difficult it can be to balance the success of a football club both on and off the pitch at National League level.

We’ve witnessed it in all different types of ownership models with various sized supporter bases.

As a club Wrexham AFC remembers its dark days under previous ownership and the help and support we got from clubs across the country to help us get the club back on its feet, help that was vital in our survival bid.

Thirteen miles from the Racecourse our greatest rivals Chester FC are currently fighting off the field challenges and need all the support from the football family they can get to help them as others helped us.

With this in mind we have organised for the bucket collection at the home fixture of Saturday 24th February versus Aldershot Town at the Racecourse to be in aid of their survival bid.

All bucket collection donations are voluntary but we invite supporters to put aside rivalries for the day and do our bit to help Chester FC overcome this challenge by donating whatever amount you can afford, however small, on the way into the stadium.

Your generosity as fans is always amazing and this is another opportunity to demonstrate it.

The derby is always a great atmosphere and what is football without its special games?

The Wrexham AFC versus Chester FC matches are right up there amongst the most special games in British Football and long may it continue.

We can resume rivalries at 12pm on Sunday 11th March as the two sides clash in what promises to be another intense and entertaining 90 minutes of National League football.
Haha. No chance.

They dug their own hole this time, partly trying to compete with us offering Hannah that two year deal. Haha. Let them dig their way out this time.

They are a fan owned club who are lucky to get 1500 fans at a home game. A club who also hand out 2 year deals to players they can't afford. If they had owners who were trying to shaft them I would have far more sympathy, but it seems their own fans and city don't care so why should we!?

I won't judge anyone putting money in the buckets but I'd much rather put it into our own build the budget.

If Chester supporters want to save their own club then they need to take the lead in their fight - turn out in numbers and dip into their own pockets - somehow they don't seem to grasp the nettle.

The timing of the bucket collection (from our point of view is questionable) I wouldn't trust the situation they are in and would like to ensure the proceeds of all ticket sales to their supporters are all banked and in our account - so if they enter administration we are not left massively out of pocket.

Everybody has a choice but charity begins at home - selling 23,000 raffle tickets for our own cause and then donating money to them is like throwing money away.

I feel for their plight but I also have a great many friends who are allegedly Chester fans - many left after the Vaughan regime and have never gone back - but even now when I speak to them and we start discussing football I get repeat replies 'I didn't go Saturday' - it seems general apathy being repeated for a second time - not enough of them have the will, desire and passion to support their own club - for a second time.

I stand to be corrected but I don't recall them having a bucket collection when we were in the mire.

Difficult one this obviously. I can't be 100% certain but I doubt very much our club asked yours for help so it's a good gesture by Wrexham.
Fully understand why many fans won't chuck in the bucket but think your board probably remember the help we offered when you guy's first became fan owned. You've obviously gone on to make a better job of it than we have!!
Believe we've raised about £48K so far will mange to keep the club afloat for the short term and with a new chairman on board hopefully things will improve.
Good luck with the promotion campaign (gritted teeth)
