This game could go ahead with Chester fans in the usual away area and a line of stewards in between their fans and ours.

I can only assume that's true, but a simple publication of SAG meeting minutes would make things a lot clearer. Whilst they're secret, we can only speculate.

Not enough time to make infrastructure changes to the Yale stand for larger than expected (????) away following.
Those comments jumped out for me as well. “Not enough time to make infrastructure changes.”

And there was me thinking that the fixture list came out in the summer, 7 or 8 months ago!!!

Best comment on the whole thread, lots of guessing from some but who really knows?

But we need to be stronger as so many other clubs have to do far less than we have to and the police need major questions asking of them By Ian Lucas in parliament as it’s clear the elected person to question North Wales Police is failing, he’s lost my vote if he stands again as he should of been all over this being a fan of the club. It’s obvious that Heidi and her superiors are unable to Police games without major disruption to all involved.

Up until this statement some healthy suspicion wouldn't hurt. But there is a bit of a statement of intent; that there has been a proposal to avoid a switch this time, that it must have been rejected due to work on the ground being demanded, and that such work is going to happen. Despite some attempts to draw the sting from the statement all those things are pretty clear. If we're looking at the same situation again next season we can only ask if the work wasn't done or if NWP/SAG have moved the goalposts.

Any suggestion of doing work before now is a bit pointless; the swell of opinion from our fans was to divert funds to player wages instead and that is what they did.

I really can't get too excited over these issues - they may never happen in relation to Chester / Tranmere or both for beyond this season.

Putting a mere line of stewards in one stand and hoping they can keep Wrexham & Chester apart will end in disaster.

My real concern for the Chester fixture 'this March' having witnessed the lack of control by NWP after the match v Tranmere is how the Chester fans are allowed to disperse after the game - they need to be controlled via 'one' route especially those heading back towards the railway station.

When the Chester support is housed in the GUS / Tech End - and the temporary big gate used to be located on the corner of the Tech End / Yale Stand - all Chester support had to exit towards Mold Road - and not be permitted to go behind the Yale Stand where many home fans, families and kids are congregated using both the club shop & Centenary Club.

The police can't be everywhere but at least if they channel Chester fans from the exit gates towards Mold Road for onward dispersal they can at least cross the back of the Yale Stand & Crispin Lane off their list for a potential kick off and in doing so provide a safe recognized haven for home support whilst the crowd departs.

For the Chester match NWP need to keep the University Stand exits shut for 15 minutes after the match ends and then to either shut the gate across the corner of the Yale/University stands after Wrexham fans have left that area or else create a police line to prevent Chester fans going up past the club shop. All Chester fans can then leave the GUS stand via Mold Road and disperse to car/ coach/ train as they want. Would the police commander like to pass that over to the helicopter pilot.

When the fixture list came out the bubble was firmly on the agenda for this years home match. The club would not want to make structural changes to the ground with the control of Chester fans firmly in the control of NWP.

The police will have an input but also the club Safety Officer as it is he who is in sole charge on the day and makes the decisions.
