I'll believe it when I see it. The safety officer will probably have a good laugh watching us throw away money at a facility that will never be used.

Chester could easily be housed in the upper Yale.

He won’t be laughing. He strikes me as a ludicrously intense serious type if it’s the guy who tells us to take care as we leave the stadium.

The clue is in the title, Safety ADVISORY Group.

Surely the club go into the meeting saying "This is what we want to do" and it's up to the group to advise the club on what needs to be put in place to make that happen.
Then it's up to the club to make counter proposals as required and they thrash it out over tea and biscuits.
It's out of order to give the GUS to the away supporters but tbf Tranmere packed it out, which is more than I can say about our own fans.
I can't see jester bringing that many for this but there will be a swell to the home support, with that in mind the club should be allowed to keep the GUS for home fans and stick the three or four hundred from across the border in the normal area set aside for away fans.

Yes and no. The club has told them that next seasons things need to change. The safety group say it can't be done this season and if we go against that our safety certificate gets withdrawn and there will be no game or it will be behind closed doors.

Then they either have too much power or the title is a little confused "Safety Enforcement Group" would be more suitable.
Sue them under the trades description act

There are a number of interested parties represented at the SAG. Unfortunately the power to decide on policy for the games lies solely in the hands of the police and the Local Authority. The club can make representations and suggestions but if the aforementioned don't agree, it doesn't happen. Basically it's advice with a gun to your head.

This.

I fully understand the practicalities of the tech end IF we had capacity elsewhere like in the 90's.

What I cant understand is we could give them 750 tickets (that section surely has 1000 seats) in the normal away end, allocated seating and be done with it. A line of netting 3 seats wide, followed by police / stewards between them and the directors boxes etc.

The only issue would be them getting to the ground but again, there will be enough police about to make that it's safe and no different to us at their ground when we shared a stand. Also no different to any other stadium up and down the country.

The bit about changes to the segregation only applies to the bottom tier, so don't sell it to them, sell it to us if needed. Again many grounds have away fans above or below home fans.

If in the future they will always seat away fans in this bit is true then they will still have the access issues, that won't change.

Apologies if it’s already been asked and answered but does anyone know what the combined capacity for the mold end of the stand and paddock roughly?
