1992-93 Promotion Reunion

With Dean Keates’s 2018 team currently pushing hard for the Club’s aim of promotion to the Football League; it’s time to reflect on the past as its 25 years since Brian Flynn’s prodigies’ succeeded in taking Wrexham from the then Division Three to Division Two.
*
With this in mind* Wrexham Supporters Trust are organising a reunion of the 1992/93 promotion winning side as an opportunity for its members to show their appreciation to a side that produced so many memorable moments during that never to-be-forgotten season. Who will ever forget the game at Northampton, and the thousands of fans who travelled to the game? The promotion party v. Colchester United? Benno and Watkin's goals? etc.
*
All of the players and management from that 1992/93 squad have been invited, and so far we have had a great response with Joey Jones, Gary Bennett, Steve Watkin, Karl Connolly, Mel Pejic, Waynne Phillips, Mark Morris, Jonathan Cross, Barry Jones all agreeing to attend and making the effort to catch up with old friends for an afternoon of reminiscing.
*
The informal get-together will begin with introductions, a two-course dinner, during which the DVD from that season will be shown to remind us all of such a memorable season in Wrexham’s history. This will be followed by a top comedian and a question-and-answer session with all the players present, whilst supporters will also be invited to share their memories.
*
The Centenary Club will provide the venue at 12.30 for 1pm on Sunday 25thFebruary 2018, and the cost is just £20 per person with tickets available from the Club Shop or on line at RedPassion.co.uk Wrexham FC | Wrexham Football Club Fansite | Wrexham FC | Wrecsam : RedPassion.co.uk
*
Whether you witnessed this memorable season; seen the DVD; or heard about this team from your parents; grandparents; or friends; the opportunity to meet these former players and listen to their memories is not to be missed, so book your tickets now and* do not miss this great event.

A couple of seasons before I was old enough to start going. However my dad had the VHS of that season and I must've watched it a hundred times.

I'm sure it'll be a great success and a top night.

Northampton away - half of North Wales was there that night.

A glorious sunny evening at the old ground running alongside the cricket ground.

My own 'massive' Wrexham FC Red Army' red banner is behind the away goal.

What a night that was. The fixture was as important to Northampton as it was for us as they attempted to stay in the league - seem to recall they went down.

Then back to the Racecourse for our last home game for a celebration infront of a near 10,000 crowd and a very late winner by Steve Watkin for a 4 - 3 win.
