And it's done nothing for consistency or reliability of surface. This change improves that but you don't want it because Preston's invincibles didn't win the league on it in 1888. I've got no agenda here but I'm not hearing anything that isn't totally reactionary.

Some of the premier teams play on 3 or 4G interwoven with grass.

Lazy response. If you think plastic pitches are the future I haven't attempt to label you as someone who also wants summer football, B teams in the football league, bigger goals, quarters instead of halves or any of the other 'improvements' that have been suggested over the years.

I've told you my view is fairness and quality of football.

and what good is consistence if you consistency can't keep the ball in play or consistently damage your knees?

consistency is not intrinsically a good thing. Its only a good thing if its consistent at good things.

It is consistent at good things, it has visibly made standards improve at the level I've watched it at. Feel free to provide contradictory examples if you have them rather than citing vague concepts that don't match that. You can't keep the ball in play? This is errant nonsense.

Going off the subject a bit I know but its a sore subject for me playing on grass in the winter.

My son plays for an under 11s team and I feel 4G pitches are the future for the development of kids football. The past two seasons they have had to play all there games on grass. You wouldn't believe the amount of football that he has missed due to pitches being unplayable due to the weather. These 4G pitches need to be made available for all age groups for the kids of today so they can develop their skills to the maximum and not have it ruined by pitches either being unplayable or like a mudbath.

There are 4G pitches available locally, but down here, once they get to a certain age, they play on grass.

It's a lazy response to a lazy response. There's nothing unfair about differences in pitches, they exist now and always have and I'd like to know the level of football it has affected the spectacle negatively because it is contrary to my experience.

These pitches definitely have their place and obviously beat waterlogged winter pitches. Less muddy on your kick when watching from the sidelines too!

You've not noticed the ball zipping off the surface? How many games have you watched? Surely you have noticed that?
