Re: Bucket collection
What a joke of a man Rooney is.
Jumped ship here to play at a ground like Lex's in front of 500 fans because the rich owner was stupid enough to pay him a couple of quid extra a week. Now is willing to play for free at another struggling club who will be in the Conference North next season. Baffling. |

Re: Bucket collection
You lot are entirely missing the point. We never asked you for a bucket collection, this was your decision not ours. Me personally? I don't sit well with the local rivals giving us money. We will be fine anyway. Just a footnote : if it was the other way around and Wrexham needed help I wouldn't put money in a bucket either. I agree it's totally of our own making, but will be remedied.
Good luck for the rest of the season |

Obviously it was a gesture of goodwill from our perspective and whilst it does not still well with some I think that help/assistance from both sides has been available all the way through the recent struggles and moves to fan ownership albeit not financial. Unfortunately this time Chester were mismanaged from within and it seems they have learnt valuable lessons which Bignot seems to be addressing - well that's how it looks from the outside anyway. A marvellous fund raising campaign has seen over £75k (as I understand) raised and this will allow them to finish the season and regroup so maybe they don't need any help from us after all. I say good luck to them as they regroup in the North division |

Re: Bucket collection
There must be so many deserving charities that could have had a bucket collection that day and so potentially one could have lost out because there are only so many home games. We regularly put money in the bucket for those causes but definitely not for this one. I don't get the Chester love in. Any Wrexham fans that feel strongly could have donated to them anyway.

Re: Bucket collection
I don't want any football club to go bust - even Chester, and that's very hard to say. I would gladly have contributed to the collection if this was to help the club to survive the season financially regardless of staying in this league or having to swallow relegation however to then say they are to sign a player allegedly on expenses only with money "put aside" is taking the p**s!
Now to be fair Chester, as far as I know, didn't ask for the collection but I think we jumped in to quick thinking we were being good neighbours before knowing all the financial facts and I now feel quite strongly that our offer should be withdrawn immediately. |

Re: Bucket collection
the way i see it.. we dont know what our future holds as a fan-owned club... if something was to happen.. and we ended up in financial trouble..
does that mean its our tough shit and we should just turn over and die... ? if we couldn't raise the finances ourselves... im sure as hell most of you lot slating chester would be more than happy for any financial help , regardless where it came from i very much doubt same ones moaning about possibility of giving to chester would be encouraging fans from other clubs NOT to donate because it woulda been our own fault we landed in financial trouble |

Re: Bucket collection
I still think we should do a bridging loan secured against their lease, or just buy the club and get them as a feeder / somewhere for the under 9's to play.
We could have a members vote on their kit (perhaps red and white?) and an extra 'owned by Wrexham' on their badge? |
