I'm not sure thats true. Rutherford is consistent, but consistently plays at a level that is suitable for step 5.

He’d have been a great bench option for us. Last weekend a prime example. Struggling to find a way through and hoping endless crossing into the box would produce a goal. Vose has the ability to turn a game in an instant doing something off the cuff rather than all this “percentages’ football we seem to play. Darlington must have had a stat that if we crossed 100 aimless balls in we would score 1 of them.

That's the trouble with the modern game unfortunately. They seem to coach natural ability out of young players these days.

Happens in all sports I'm afraid. I'm all for a bit of sports science but not at the expense of coaching out natural talent.
