When Wright was stripped off, Kelly seemed to step it up a gear so Keates seemed to change his mind.

Anyone else notice Shaun Pearson giving Kelly a bollocking in the 1st half?

Yes - I thought Kelly improved as the game progressed but not for the first time Pearson has chewed the head off a tem mate - same at Guiseley but can't remember who's ear got the blast that day.

It's got to be a good thing to put on fresh legs in the closing stages but I don't think it was the type of game where any particular one player was having a stinker - in fact we seemed to get better in the closing minutes - this might explain why Wright was stripped and ready to enter the fray only to be pulled back onto the bench - we did seem to up our game at the time and Wright was standing on the touch line for what seemed like ages.

It’s absolutely infuriating, but he’s a new manager so we have to give him the chance to learn from his mistakes.
Can it be put down to inexperience? He’s not a 16 year old grassroots coach, he’s played professionally for 15 years, he knows how players feel on the pitch and when he needs to get fresh legs on. If he makes mistakes in a coaching or recruiting way I’ll agree that’s inexperience as a manager. I think Keates is doing a brilliant job by the way, it’s just frustrating that general mistakes that anyone who’s watched a game of football will understand. Players run for 90 minutes they’ll get tired.

This is a man who played on with a dislocated shoulder so to accuse him of lacking any type of bottle is very harsh.

Not read all the thread and just to be different to the main theme - all this talk about not getting the subs on, we did pay Aldershot too much respect in the first half despite them being the best footballing team to come to the Racecourse. The 2nd half was better and the last quarter of the game we actually got stronger and looked the team more likely to win it. It would have been an injustice overall but the form Quiggs is in you would have thought he would have won it for us with the best chance of the game. The squad is certainly stronger since the window, we have just lost our way integrating some of the new players, it happens. What is important now is we get that spirit and togetherness shown all season back and the new players give us the lift we all expected.

Five outfield subs equals intent. Use of one sub only on 86 minutes implies indecision.

Talk about upbeat, but I think that Davewilli (No relation) could put a positive spin on a nuclear attack. I used to sell anti depressants - is Dave still on them?
