Default Ratings vs Aldershot

Dunn - 8 had his best game for a while. Kept us in the game on a couple of occasions. At least 2 stunning saves.

Roberts 6 - spent the first half chasing shadows. Better 2nd half
Pearson 6 - not his usual imposing self and his row with Kelly showed how much pressure they were under. Better 2nd half
Manny 7 - didn't miss a header, had an excellent game and kept his head when all around were losing theirs
Jennings 5 - leaves his man with too much room and wasn't as effective going forward as usual. According to a numpty on Wrexham AFC fans forum he should f..k right off!! That's some Wrexham 'supporters' for you

Wedgbury 8 - covered every blade of grass but he can't do it on his own
Kelly 6 - poor in the 1st half but a revelation in the 2nd half just as he was about to be hooked.

Deverdics 6 - starting to fit into the team but his fitness is not up to others.
Franks 5 - can't remember any worthwhile contribution from him but giving him the benefit as he is a fairly recent addition
Holroyd 6 - what on earth are we doing playing our leading scorer in a wide left position? Much more involved when we switched it 2nd half

Quigley 8 - only he will know how he missed that chance at the end. Never stopped running and gave his all.

Akil Wright ran around a lot
Ainge looks decent but was blowing through his blowpipe at the end.

Management
We started as 4-2-3-1 at home!
Then we went 4-4-2 at home!
Only when Ainge came on did we go 4-3-3 by which time we had taken Holroyd off!!

Let/'s be honest Aldershot were the best team to arrive at the Racecourse for some time and we were chasing shadows and could have been 5-1 down at half time. Credit to the team for hanging in there and taking the lead. You were never confident we were capable of winning it.

I pretty much agreed with the above until I got to the bit about Akil Wright. I don't think he came on.

To be fair he did run around a lot on the touchline.

For me only Quigley and Dunn deserve more than a 6/10, the rest were all 4, 5 & 6s. I thought Wedgebury had a bit of a mare, particularly in the second half when he gave the ball away in dangerous positions.

Default Re: Ratings vs Aldershot

Dunn 7 - a number of goal saving interceptions but remains vulnerable to anything that is crossed into the box
Roberts 5 - dreadful first half. Constantly dragged into the centre leaving acres of space down the right hand side which Aldershot exploited. Passing also woeful, 75 yard punts to no one in particular. Improved a bit 2nd half
Jennings 6 - also incredibly poor 1st half. Had a decent 2nd half and most of the better attacks came from his side of the pitch. Some decent blocks also.
Pearson 6 - lost a lot of battles today, in the air and positionally
Smith 7 - best of the defence that was on the back foot for most of the game
Wedgebury 6 - bags of effort but guilty of giving the ball away cheaply too often
Kelly 6 - lost boy 1st half. Played a more active role 2nd
Deverdics 6 - not involved 1st half and not sure of his role. More involved later in the game
Franks 5 - not sure what he brought to the team? Rutherford should have come on at half time
Holroyd 6 - just about a 6.
Quigley 8 - goals and full of running. Easily MOM
