Crowd looked subdued, not from where I was in the mold road stand it wasn't.

I think the chester player far side of the box played him. So nearest to the mold road stand. He looked like 2 feet further back from their defensive line.

The goal celebration was a bit subdued. I think everyone was waiting for the flag, it all stopped. Well on though, and well taken.

The Chester defender nearest the Mold Road stand played him on side but he was the only one - agree at first glance it looked as though it was offside and that is no doubt why Astles was complaining so bitterly to the ref but TV replays show it was a 'good' goal - taken well.

I have watched the match on recorded TV since and thought Deverdics was poor but since watching the recording he was far more influenential than I realised not only for his goal and his assist.

Agreed he had a good game. Think our fans are very over critical at times and Deverdics has a style which appears lazier than more industrious players such as Wedge, Rutherford etc which may be perceived as a lack of effort
