Re: Dean Keates speaks out
This saga reminds me of when a player scores a goal and proceeds to kiss his club badge on his shirt. Then he gets transferred within the month. This is THE NORM. Wayne Rooney managed to stick 9 years at Man United on a disgraceful salary, whilst sleeping every night in his Everton pj’s (so we are told). Where’s the loyalty there - answer, there is not any.
This is certainly not being jilted in the church. Different ball game. When Shinton left us for a top class club in the late 80’s I was saddened. But I accepted that the move would better him. He would have been a fool to miss out on it. Dean Keates had to move to Walsall to better his career. That’s life! |

Re: Dean Keates speaks out
Here's Keates being interviewed by Walsall FC on his new post.
Must confess it's like coming home to find your wife has run off with the lodger. A player with us for 5 years, lifted the Trophy at Wembley and given a 3 and a half year managers contract and he still walks - Walsall must be one hell of a pull. https://youtu.be/3_TLZMZbzIc |

Re: Dean Keates speaks out
Let’s say he does well at Walsall for the next 18 months. Villa or Wolves come sniffing around and offer him a £1.5 million a year salary (and the resulting high profile). Is he really going to ignore their advances because Walsall were his first club ? This is football and it’s always been this way. Some on here are getting a bit too sensitive.
