Keates told the Daily Post today: "I've had no contact from Walsall and don't expect to."

Honesty? Integrity? Loyalty? Why should the players feel any sense of belonging at Wrexham when their boss showed none this week?
Perhaps he hadn’t spoken to Walsall and had no contact at the point he was asked that question

You’d rather be with someone who’s heart wasn’t elsewhere though wouldn’t you?

Walsall may be his hometown club so if another club of similar standing and league position had come in he may have turned them down. But if it had been a championship or larger league 1 club surely he’d have gone anyway?

It’s a career move to the club he supports. It’ll be interesting to see what happens if he does well and an even bigger club comes in for him. I predict a similar statement from him saying he couldn’t possibly turn the opportunity down.

This.

But trying to explain this to some is a little too complex it seems...

Personally, I don't care whether he stayed or left. That his choice, it is not unreasonable to ask the approaching club to wait 4 weeks before he takes up the offer. This period can mean thousands to the club if we are promoted. He could go after this period with everyone's good wishes, it does not seem unreasonable.

But it seems the Walsall offer was a “take it or leave it”, not a “ok we’ll wait a month while our season potentially goes down the pan”...

I never thought it stood for anything else.
It’s news to me that it has been morphed into “Up the Supporters Trust”!
