That seems an honest assessment from Dean the opportunity was there and he felt he had to take it. I for one cant blame him and wish him all the best

It's a shame his honesty in that message wasn't equalled in his quotes to Tuesday's Daily Post:

Wrexham manager Dean Keates insists he is not in the running for the vacant manager's job at Walsall, despite being second favourite among bookmakers to take over at his former club.
Keates told the Daily Post today: "I've had no contact from Walsall and don't expect to."

Honesty? Integrity? Loyalty? Why should the players feel any sense of belonging at Wrexham when their boss showed none this week?

As he said football has its own timing and in all fairness he probably shouldnt even have been in the running. Quite surprised Viveash didnt get the job.

We need to come out of this stronger and learn the lessons from the last 6 years.

Build the spine of the team, quality not quantity, use the loan system sparingly and only to improve the starting 11, 442 formation and a manager that cares and does his homework in this division. only play the youngsters if they’re good enough, players play on merit and recruit good players from other NL teams.....the list goes on.

Mistakes made by allowing AM poor recruitment, promoting Barr, Gary Mills 1 the ladder and Gary Mills 2 the slacker.....learn the lessons of history.

DK has gone so lets move on and lets move forward.

But he hadn’t been approached on Tuesday so what he’s said is perfectly legitimate!!

I would be very surprised if he knew nothing of it on Tuesday.

Indeed. I think anyone who thinks otherwise is being a touch naive.

If he’s said he wasn’t contacted then why shouldn’t we believe him? He’s an honourable enough man.

These things can progress within a matter of hours.
