Intresting times ahead. I do feel we might need to bring someone in as Darlington is part time and we need 1 manager until the end of the season .
The Board could make it a condition of appointment that Darlington must continue in his role, with that role and responsibilities clearly defined, for the new man to adhere to.

I am guessing that CD will have connections with the new manager in some shape or form.

I’d like to see Darlington made permanent Director of Coaching (on a part time basis if that is what he still wants). He can then set the playing style and the philosophy, and day to day affairs could then be handled by a first team manager. If that manager goes it is then not such a huge issue.

This kind of set-up worked well for Swansea as they climbed the leagues under a number of different managers.

Isn't this what he is now?

I’m not sure it is that clearly defined at the moment. He’s just a coach and there is no guarantee he will still be here if the next manager doesn’t want him, as happened under Mills. In my view we should have a more clearly defined heirarchy.

God yeah, imagine if Darlington got sacked by text again.

I'd laugh and cry at the same time. Mainly cry.

I agree Redtalk. I just hope those who are making the decision recognise the mistake that was made after Wilkin was sacked. \even if we would all like to see some more attractive football Dean, Andy and Carl have laid the groundwork for a more professional approach to how we run things on the field. No more short termism. We should fight to keep Carl and Andy at the club and the new man needs to buy in to our philosophy.
