Ole ole ole, ole ole, Peter ward ward Ward, Peter ward ward Ward. The man was a footballing genius.

Did he mention what he was doing these days? Heard that he was on his way back to Stockport county.
Also Mike lake and Scott green...

Amazing player and a great character. My imagine of him is Birmingham away for some reason

On the subject of best midfielder in 30 years. He also player in that game - Bryan Hughes
To be fair Yozzer probably had a better career than Wardie, but when it comes to influencing a Wrexham team on the pitch Wards tops for me

Was great to see and hear Peter Ward, Nick gave him a great introduction, and Peter spoke about a great affection for Wrexham AFC.
He mentioned that when he came here, he was asked by Brian Flynn to mentor a couple of young players that he thought would do well. The players he looked after were Bryan Hughes, Dave Brammer, and I think he said Jonathan Cross.
When he finished speaking our table gave him the rousing Ole Ole,Ole Ole, Peter Ward Ward Ward! Legend!

A wonderful player who, unfortunately, came to Wrexham late in his career, and,for that reason, was'nt here long enough.
I sat next to him on Saturday and picked up some 'snippets':-
He did'nt mention going back to Stockport but does watch them occasionally.
He was as frustrated as the rest of us that we took so long to seal the win. "Should have been over by half time" was his summation.
"The full backs don't push on enough" was another one, but his best was when Simon Ainge came on "Christ he's got a bigger arse than my missus"!

How do we find a 'non league' version of him ?

Peter Ward, and Eddie Niedzwiecki who was a Bamfords guest the other week, are standout examples of players who would grace the Hall of Fame register. Any chance of the WSF resuming this fine tradition? It was a fine way of paying tribute to our greatest servants and the HoF nights were a surefire money-earner.
