Have to your knowledge, ever had an estimate to remove the existing Kop completely and build an adequate stand with catering and toilet facilities built under?

Given that an modest 2000 seat KOP would be in the range of 2 Million.

A loan of 25 years would be £80K per year.

This could be paid for by simply added it to the cost of the ticket. (80 000 / 23 (games) / 3900 supporters) = 89p

This is a simple idea I know and does not take into account interest payment and real world variables. But its just an idea, the KOP has been idle to long.
But that doesn’t include demolition and clearance costs.

As a National League club we can access up to £400K of matched funding from the Football Stadium Improvement Fund.

If we get promoted that will increase to £750K of matched funding.

Have to agree about the museum being a White Elephant...I'd give it 5 years before it would have to shut from lack of interest...But that's not to say, we shouldn't push for it if it helps our cause in any way..

At least, once a stand has been built, the museum could be replaced with something else..

I believe that grant money is only available to bring a ground up to the minimum requirements of the league you are in. The site says

"You are eligible to apply for grant aid to meet the membership conditions of your current league. If you are promoted, you are eligible to apply for grant aid to meet the membership conditions of the new league, but only after your promotion has been confirmed by the league.

We base grants on the league you were in at the time you submitted your application, and our Board retains full discretion regarding what they consider appropriate."

Not so, we've used the FSIF for the wheelchair viewing platform, changing rooms etc, I believe it was over £100K last time.
I think Dover got funding for a new stand this season.

I have no knowledge of anyone estimating the cost of Clearing the site and constructing a new stand.
To produce a 4,500 seat stand which was originally proposed by the Moss and Robber consortium would I expect cost in the region of £7million.
I would however be feasible to Clear the site and provide facilities and the basic infrastructure (safe standing) for £1.5 miilion or thereabouts. (Back of fag packet estimating)
Further development could ensue at a later date if needed,

Just looking at Dover now and they did get 400k for their new stand.
Reading about it seems they've been quite clever in that the money was given for things in the stand such as new changing rooms, a disabled supporters section, toilets, medical room etc rather than the actual bricks

The council aren't interested unless it's for free, hopefully another economic impact report is published in the media after the Stereophonics gig to embarrass them some more.

I suspect the bid for the Rugby League World Cup is another freebie.
