draigwrecsam spends most of life updating these stats. According to his calculations we are 3 points ahead of the number we need at present to ensure a birth in the playoffs (prior to yesterday's result). He loves magic numbers. |

Re: The magic number
The magic number for the playoffs is 13. We must gain and the 8th place team must lose a combined total of 13 points. With 18 points to play for it is still in hand.
However, for the magical 3rd place the number is 21 and so it is out of our hands, we rely on others to drop points. Our PPG position is 5th and we are reliant on Tranmere and/or Aldershot to lose points. In theory, we can still be champions but that magic number is 29 so even if we win all our games we need Macc to drop 11 points in 6 games, not to mention Sutton having to drop 8!! |
