In the last 2 seasons the 7th placed team has finished on 75 points. .. we are now on 68 points. .. this does mean we can't just draw our remaining games, but we should manage to reach the play-offs. That was our original target at the start of the season. We are difficult to beat, but clearly don't kill teams off. Hopefully we can take penalties. .. we may rely on them. Whilst at times the football hasn't been the best, we have progressed, from the midtable sides produced since the Newport defeat at Wembley. Ideally we now get 3rd. It's a big ask but doable. Tranmere's game in hand is dover on a Tuesday night, which will be tough. What we don't want is a do or die game against fylde on last game. We now have 6 games left, and it is getting very nervy at the top, we are not the only ones dropping silly points. We should reach the play-offs, and this time hopefully with the likes of Pearson, Manny, Wedgebury and Kelly. .experienced players with know how. ..we can get through. .. and personally if we win 3 penalty shoot outside to do so, then so be it (although my nerves will be shot).

Zero chance we'll win 3 play off games if we finish outside the top 3. We must go all out for those home semi finals now and ideally get a luck of the draw tie. Anything could happen at Wembley.

draigwrecsam spends most of life updating these stats. According to his calculations we are 3 points ahead of the number we need at present to ensure a birth in the playoffs (prior to yesterday's result). He loves magic numbers.

However, for the magical 3rd place the number is 21 and so it is out of our hands, we rely on others to drop points. Our PPG position is 5th and we are reliant on Tranmere and/or Aldershot to lose points.

In theory, we can still be champions but that magic number is 29 so even if we win all our games we need Macc to drop 11 points in 6 games, not to mention Sutton having to drop 8!!
