Any manager is a gamble, but there are different levels of gambling. Appointing a manager who has never played professional football and has no contacts in the game , is like betting on a Shetland Pony to win the Grand National.

I am fairly sure that Brendan Rogers and Roy Hodgson to name but two never played professional football. However I do think andy’s apparent reluctance is something to be considered. In my opinion we should thank him by keeping him here as long as possible and as I have said before I can see him and CD with Bellamy as an exciting proposition if it’s possible.

Dunn
Roberts Pearson Smith Jennings
Wedgebury
Wright Kelly Boden
Quigley

Dunn
Raven Pearson Smith
Roberts Wright Kelly Wedgebury Jennings
Quigley Boden

Boden works well with Quigley.
Holroyd is out of form and needs a rest.

Let’s mix it up a bit, we need to be a bit more adventurous.
None of this will happen of course.

Hopefully your 1st idea doesn't as we are starting with 10 men!!!

I’d really mix it up:

Dibble

Raven
Smith
Pearson
Roberts

Wedgebury

Holmroyd
Boden (he’s the only one playing connecting through balls)
Rutherford

Ainge
Quigley

Subs: Dunn, Wright, Kelly, Leo Smith, Youth team player.

Strength, power, height and pace in the right places. Gets rid of inconsistencies. Unfortunately still missing the attacking central midfielder but we don’t have one at the club at the minute (#1 target for the summer together with the permanent signature of Quigley!).

Out in the summer Dunn, Jennings, Carrington, Franks, Makreath, Deverdiks, Boden - none are good enough. Could see Holmroyd going in the summer but don’t think we’d miss him given he’s gone utterly off the boil in the last three months. Leo Smith the forgotten man cannot possibly be any worse than some of the other dross that has come in in midfield recently.

Whilst I like the idea of Bellamy and the enthusiasm and the possible contacts he would have, he would still be another gamble as he has never managed, bit on paper a better gamble than Davies.

Agreed but in reality do we have another option ? Wilkins was for sure the ‘done it at this level’ option and that didn’t work. CB would bring contacts , enthusiasm and sell season tickets.

Who's Holmroyd? Who's Makreath? Just being pedantic I know you mean Holroyd and Mackreth don't disagree with the majority to get rid of but Deverdics is contracted for next season, it's why we should have sorted a new manager to come in I understand the logical choice of continuing till end's of season with Davies but we need a new manager to identify who to keep.

Rutherford should be dropped alongside Holroyd and I’d also ruffle Wedgebury’s feathers as he’s been pretty poor recently aswell, players need to know they can’t keep churning out poor performances and be immune from being dropped.
