At the end of the day, Keates left us right in the shit with the timing of leaving. The main thing now is that the board make the right appointment for next season and get it done well before pre season starts.

Sticking with the remaining management team to finish this season was probably the best of a load of bad options.

I think the board made the right choice in going with Davies till the end of the season. They had little choice given the timing of Keates departure. However after yesterday I think we do need a new manager in place by the end of the season so they can assess the squad and make the changes they need. I’m sure the board will be looking at other options rather than waiting to se how the season unfolds.

Davies got the tactics and substitutions wrong. He also lost focus himself being more concerned with arguing with the ref at half time rather than getting straight in the changing room and sorting out the shambles of a performance and lack of discipline. The lack of discipline and control continued into the second half with Roberts been sent off.

All the players and management team need to reflect on their contribution yesterday. Yes the ref was awful but we played into his hands and Davies did little to calm things down.

One defeat since early December, (but it had been coming), and a lot on here are now critical of the board's decision to keep Andy Davies and his coaching team. If we fail to get promoted via the play-offs, and on yesterday's showing, will we even make the top seven, it won't be down to just Davies & Co, this team is just not quite good enough. Yes, a new manager is needed, but why rush into a decision, as he'd only have the same squad to choose from, and very few games to impose his style of play, and who's to say he'd take us up. Being critical of our board, who don't forget are volunteers, and work hard for our club, and want success like the rest of us, should look how things are turning out, down the road at "fan owned Chester" With so few games left now, we should just back the team, and hopefully we'll, end up in the play-offs, and as high as possible, and see where that takes us. Then, shift through the list of applicants, and appoint a new boss as soon as possible. COYR.
