Awful ref, he totally ruined what would have been an abysmal game anyway. We were awful. The best players on the pitch today were their big lads. So we keep our big, powerful midfielder on the bench??

Number 25 ran Manny ragged all afternoon. Still don't see the point of Franks. We won't miss Roberts, Raven is class at this level.

I can't recall many worse refereeing performances I've ever seen at The Racecourse, it was actually laughable at times. That said, that should not be used as an excuse for a shocking Wrexham performance.

Firstly, we were poor and deserved to lose, no excuses.

But this thread is about the ref and he was biased.

Other posters have suggested some reasons for his Boreham bias - our players are too lippy (this I agree with), the crowd is partisan (of course we are!) etc.

However, this is a professional sports league and he is a paid impartial official. He is supposed to judge each incident and call it factually, not bring in a compensatory weighting due to the irritation caused to him by our players and fans.

I had flashbacks today to the 150th anniversary game v Grimsby when the ref clearly came with the attitude of "i'm not going to be overawed by the occasion", and duly gave the visitors every single decision. The intention may be fairness, but the result is bias.

I feel we've suffered this more than most in our division down the years.

But then again i'm biased.

I may be in the minority but if the ref was awful it was because we weren't down to 8 men. The second half he got everything correct apart from Wedgbury not being sent off and Pearson must of stayed on because he was skipper - mouthing at the ref all game even after having a yellow for dissent. If he hadn't have got involved the ref wouldn't have sent Roberts off.

We were second to the ball every time, awful challenges which the ref had to give a yellow and the fans were in uproar every time. Very frustrating and def pen, def red and we didn't have a clue but to berate the ref against a much better team. ( I think the players knew it )

I think it's fair to blame both team and referee. Yeah we were bad but we've played bad (really bad at times) and nicked a goal a lot this season and the referee's incompetence made sure that didn't happen.

So I'd argue from that game it's definitely six of one half a dozen of the other.
