Maybe my comment wasn’t clear. The commentator was expressing his own thoughts on the matter, and not the law.

The arrogant attitudes towards the laws of the game shown now by many players and referees aren’t in the spirit of the game. Sportsmanship has vanished to be replaced with cynical and sly tactics designed to deceive refs who counter this by trying to become the new “stars of the show.”

IMHO that demands a change in the way that the rules are applied, along the lines expressed by the commentator. When the ref is unsighted, other officials should advise, but not adjudicate.

They do only advise now. Once the they have told the ref what's happened it's upto the ref what he card is issued. They can suggest a red or yellow card but ultimately the red makes the decision.

Retaliation is what I would expect from a pub team player. Our lads are all professionals, and that’s how I expect them to behave. Perhaps the ref knows more than us or perhaps the officials didn’t see the whole picture. That said, when you make your living from the game, you have to act like a pro. No sympathy for our lad at all. Soz.

The sending off is just another example of ill discipline after DK has left.
Getting involved in a stupid situation with a player that clearly knows how to dive and con the ref.

Why get involved?

Exactly, no need to get involved.

We will see if Roberts has a case if we appeal.

Could be a blessing in disguise.
Raven will slot in at Right back with Carra on the bench.
Be nice to see a footballer who can actually control and pass a ball rather than a hit and hope merchant.

All 3 have their limitations at RB.
Carra as a midfielder likes to let the ball drop so that he can control and pass but there are times when it just needs to be headed clear and out of danger and he needs to add that to his game.
Whereas Raven will attack the ball but doesn't offer much of an overlap going forward.
I think Roberts seems to have gained in a bit of confidence but it still average in the air and prone to indecision in attacking the ball and lets it run past his or to the byline.

I think in the last 5 games that Ravens experience could be vital but a lot depends on the midfield then in front of him.

Andy Davies was at The Rhos Reds meeting last night. We aren't appealing. He said the rules state that any video evidence has to prove that the ref made the wrong decision. Apparently the camera angles of the incident don't prove that.
