Default Darlington?

Never met the man so cannot base an opinion on his personality, but....
Watching English v Wales women's match and the comparisons between the Welsh team, men's national team (post euro's) and our own team, it is clear that there is an obvious slant towards the old 'if we can't win, make sure they can't '.
Begs the question, was it all Keates fault for some of the performances this season? He has brought in numerous attacking options but we end up with a record number of clean sheets. Is the Darlington effect holding us back, trying to play drawing board football taught to internationals but with a conference team.

Just curious what others think and is it too late change the mentality this late in the season?

Off on the pop now and if I get up early enough, trip to hants tomorrow for more loyal suffering.

Currently match is goalless, but I think we all know how it will end. Hope I'm wrong, come on Wales!

I don't know much about it, but I think England are much, much better than Wales. That may explain the tactics.

Green upfront looks even more isolated and starved of chances than our strikers this season, that takes some doing.

Wales record so far P4 W3 D1 and have yet to concede a goal. Pretty impressive.

But it has not been good to watch which is my point. If we go down the hard to beat route, we need better players to use the philosophy that seems to be in Welsh football at the moment.
If we go up it will obviously be hailed as a success, more for getting out of this God forsaken league and no-one will remember many highlights from this season.

When I played football it was because you enjoy it when younger, grow to be part of a team and those lucky enough and good enough, go on to be pros. Would be interesting to get an honest reds player's take on this. Play to tactics and be hard to beat or loosen the shackles and play. We all know we haven't got bad players here.

My niece is the Wales right back and used to come to the Racecourse with me as a girl. She's never mentioned Darlington and to be honest I think the credit has to go to the manager Jayne Ludlow who has made brilliant strides with the team. I keep asking her to bring them to Wrexham for a game as I reckon it we would be great for girl's/women's football in North Wales as well as generating funds for the club. As a father of two girls I'm all for getting them into the game.
