Re: Davies
Davies might be out of his depth but the insults are unhelpful.
Sure he is as gutted as we all are at how the last 3 matches have turned out. Not finishing in the top 7 will be a massive failure, and let the blame game begin if we don’t,but until then show some decorum. |

Re: Davies
Davies said it all in his post match interview. There is nothing to suggest he's trying to implement his own ideas just following what DK put in place. Nick a goal and defend for our lives. This is the grand plan.
The cheap option was taken by the board and now we're paying for it. Majority of the time a new manager comes into a club and gets a reaction, which would have been ideal at this point in the season. If nothing else we might have even enjoyed the remaining games and not be bored to brink of death most games. |

Re: Davies
You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear as they used to say.
I don't believe we would have played any different under Keates as we haven't got the ability within the side to keep the ball and play our way out of trouble. This was shockingly obvious yesterday as even when Eastleigh went down to 10 men they looked to have one more player than us. We continually hoofed the ball and surprisingly with an 8 man defence and two remote attacking players it kept coming back. I lost count of the number of corners we conceded. After saying all the above it was a game there for the taking. We created a number of chances and wasted them. Eastleigh's a long way to go to get depressed. |

It does look from the outside like Davies knows he will not be manager next season so thinks no reason to put own mark on team in terms of tactics etc or to criticise players in order to improve their performances.Risk of also selecting players who will not be here next season ahead of likes of Deverdics and Smith who we need to integrate in team. Kelly only scored twice and cannot run and not a good tackler-still chosen every week. Had wanted new external manager when Keates left but understood timeliness was very tight.Do hope that search is underway now as otherwise making next season a lot harder than it needs to be. |
