Re: Saunders
I watched the Manchester derby before Bellamy was summarising, he talked a lot of sense, get him here then no need for Davies and Darlington to be paid off, although I can see Davies joining the Messiah Keates, boring Walsall fans to death, yes they won today an own goal at home to the bottom club.

Re: Saunders
It has been proved that success can be bought in the National League if you spend enough. With the way Saunders spent money he was going to get it right eventually and look where it left us.
Still he was an amusing lad and could lighten the gloom at the moment counting corners free kicks and throw ins. |

Re: Saunders
But were all still in the squad that Morrell inherited and took to 98 points that initial season, which was the point of your argument? He then had to offload a few, kept a good number on (which suggests the budget whilst being cut, wasn't ridiculously slashed) to deliver plenty less points (albeit a Wembley play off final defeat) and then the next year delivered even less that ultimately led to his departure.

Re: Saunders
Add to that Mayebi, Ashton and Harris. Folk don't like to admit it but that 98 point team ( sorry pagl) didn't cost that much to put together.

Re: Saunders
When appointed I felt a change was as much a risk as keeping things the same. Unfortunately we are lucky to have won any games under him. I don’t hold him responsible as things were already regressing and our league position was probably inflated. However the fact we have struggled to win a game under him and have struggled against 10 men can’t be ignored.
We are long shots for promotion whoever takes over, but I think we need to roll the dice and try something different. |
