Morrell had his failings particularly relating to player signings but if you're telling me Saunders never signed a dud...

The difference was Saunders was allowed to sign duds because Moss gave him the money. If it was Moss’s money it would’ve been fair enough but it wasn’t. It was the equity in the stadium and land.
Saunders signed loads of duds , but in the end he got it right , and the 98pt team was nearly all his signings, but he buggered off before he completed the job

He got there because Moss gave him a massive budget, which unfortunately wasn't budgeted for. Anyone with 2 brain cells would have done far better with that much cash. Morrell was unlucky with the 98 point tally, but he then flunked it once the money reduced.

Did he get it right?

I don’t recall him or the team he assembled being promoted

The players he signed were good enough for promotion , but like I say He left before the job was complete , and it was left to a rookie to try and get us there .

That team was definitely right, and we can hope the next manager gets somewhere near to this again.

They finished with 98 points and missed out because we sold one of our best players at that time Fowler to our promotion rivals & a team with Vardy on fire. Good grief man our teams since have got a lot worse.

Morrell did most of that. It’s not as if he took over in February with 2/3 of the season played. He replaced Saunders in September 2011.

If anyone should be catapulted in to save the season it’s Morrell! Plus, he actually managed to win a playoff game...unlike Saunders.
