I’m not keen on the idea, but that is where the club will end up, so maybe it’s better to get there sooner and get on with it.
Why do you think this?

I'm not suggesting we will be promoted this year but I see no evidence we are heading towards part-time?

It’s part of my theory that the club is to an extent just about managing. What keeps us with play off hopes each year is the size of our gates. Ultimately, without onfield success, these attendances will dwindle - a Chester situation.
At that point we will have to go part time. It may happen gradually in that some players will be part time and others not; indeed Dunn is part time now. But that’s where it’s going,

As I say though, it may be a blessing in disguise.

We may be 6th, but in all my 64 years of watching our great club have I ever seen such negative stuff.
A bit longer than me then mines only 55 years watching and I've never seen such dross & the crazy thing is we're still in with a chance of the play offs, I've seen better football from relegated teams.

Spot on, we shouldn't expect success if we have a rebuild every season, with players coming in on 1 year contracts. In our market every player is a bit of a gamble, let alone trying to get a squad that compliments each other. Keates did have a plan and did his best by bringing in some experienced players who had done it in this league, maybe not the best or players he could develop but he thought would make us competetive. Changing out the squad does nothing towards bringing on our own or signing development players, it's just a case of trying to strike lucky as Macc Town have done this term, where a number of previously failing players have peaked together. Keates also ensured we now have 50% more stability going into next season and something to build on. The downside is the new manager may want his own players and have his work cut out wheeling and dealing if left to late summer.

That's the crazy/cruel thing JND, we're still in with a shout. 3 promotions in my 45 years of watching Wrexham shows they're about as rare as rocking horse sh1t, and yet this very average team could still do it. I didn't follow the National League at all on Saturday, and only caught up with the results yesterday. Take away the performances and our recent form, and looking at the table for what it is in black and white - 4 games to go and, as you say, we still have a chance.

Our defensive qualities by far exceed our offensive ones. Whatever the outcome of this season, most of our “wingers” and attacking players need to be shown the door. We can then rebuild with the solid good guys who have consistently performed for us. As for the team for Ebbsfleet, well we have tried most things and hardly caused a ripple in the stream. As my old boss used to say “you cannot polish a turd!”

Possibly but looking at the form table we have only won 2 of the last 10 games and look where 3 of the 4 teams that we have to play sit in the form table, Fylde 3rd, Orient 4th, and Ebbsfleet 5th.

England - National League form table
