A blast from the past - went to watch Gresford at Caersws last night. Mickey was there, a real Caersws stalwart. My dad had a good chat with him, reminiscing about the 60s and the 70s. Apparently, Mickey's best ever game for the Reds was the time he came up against George Best at Old Trafford. Anyone have any recollections of this?

Yes I was there Mickey was brilliant that day.

I was there too, Mickey had one of those day everything came off for him against a player I would call one of Britain's best.

I was there too poor old George didn't get a sniff. Mickey was brilliant that day and a good servant to Wrexham over the years.

Did he come to us from Wolves?

I was at Old Trafford that night and agree that Mickey Evans 'almost' marked George Best out of the game. Unfortunately, the one time he lost George was when he scored.

I was there. Wasn't this the time we had the Southend contingent in our squad. Those were the days top teams did not play weakened teams against lower league clubs.

What a great performance from Micky that night and what a great group of signings the Southend brigade were. Ingle,may,Bradbury,beanland and Smith,I think
