Interesting article today 're Macclesfield. They have no reserve team no youth team no scouting system.They have the smallest budget in the league.At the end of last season they had one player under contract and only five by July.There best player gets £250 a week and they don't pay bonuses. Ànd most of the players have other jobs to make ends meet. Amazing! And for those fans who think DK did a fantastic job how would they describe Askey 's?

Their budget is definitely in the bottom third, but no way is it the lowest. Pretty sure their own fans said it was around the £450k mark. Similar to Chester's at the start of the season.

I’m not convinced Danny Whittaker is playing for circa 12k a year when most conference clubs would give him 5 times that amount. Same with the likes of Pilkington and Jalal.
