Default Tuesday's Fixtures.

Clutching at straws a bit here, but results from around the country this Tuesday, will determine if our play-off chances have finally gone. Results we need, Aldershot to lose at home to Gateshead (unlikely), and the same fate for Dover, Tranmere winning that one. Form side Ebbsfleet, could also pass us, if they win at Eastleigh. All in all, it isn't looking good, and having been in the play-offs nearly all season, top twice, we could finish as low as nineth, a poor end to, what at one stage, looked like being a great year for us. Bitterly disappointed, frustrated and really annoyed, to of thrown it all away, these last few weeks.

How long have you supported Wrexham? This season is par for the course.

Crystal Palace; Mansfield; Chesterfield; Luton; Newport - all important matches down the years; all ended in defeat. Can probably add Orient and Fylde to that list very soon.

This club always lacks backbone when the chips are really down.

Its something you either get used to it or you stop going, which is what a lot do end up doing.

Stop going? Our crowds are up on a lot of our league years.

I don’t think he quite said that though did he?

Lacking backbone and lacking the want to be promoted is two very different things.

To suggest the club doesn’t want to be promoted is just nonsense - petulance and frustration brimming over in response to disappointment. The board have given managers plenty of backing (and got rid when needed to) so to suggest the powers that be are happy for us just to stay in this league is lunacy & quite frankly unfair.

However the above doesn’t hide the fact that we are, in my opinion, lacking in mental toughness. We lack a ruthlessness and strong enough will to close out games by any means necessary. We seem lacking in the psychological side (as well as the quality).

But the effort is something we can’t fault...

I think if we win our last 2 games we will end up in the play offs. It's a tough ask and there's little recent evidence to suggest we can. However Leyton Orient are not Barcelona.

It's strange isn't it, I can't see how a club can have a losing/bottling mentality - surely that's down to players/managers? Obviously we don't have the right people in either camp at the moment.

This is my point exactly, but it isn't a new phenomena at Wrexham. Virtually every team we have had over the last 46 years has demonstrated the same mentality.

And as for crowds going up, so has the population of Wrexham.

How many people do we all know who always ask about Wrexham, but have stopped going to watch them? I know of at least 15 people I used to attend matches with and I am the only one now who attends regularly.

The others gave up at various points, and usually after yet another disappointment. There is definitely something missing in how we prepare our teams.
