However, the 'reality' is attendances are most likely lower than stated. |

This issue continues to be raised from time to time. Last home game we had an 'attendance' of 4,193 v Dagenham - however as a ST holder in the Tech End there were far, far, more empty seats than usual. I can only conclude that many ST holders and casual visitors have decided not to attend due to our poor run of form. To me it's a very strange one - I believe attendance should mean exactly that - how many people are actually present watching the game rather than including seats that have been paid for by people who don't turn up for whatever reason - but that's the system so be it. It's make or break tomorrow at Brisbane Road - if enough of us were encouraged enough by recent results and form we would have filled the away allocation down there - it's a shame as it always looked an attractive fixture to go to back last August - a good result and 3 points could mean the difference between a packed house and a ghost town for the Fylde game. Two wins are required - nothing else will do. On the thread subject can anyone find the old 76 footage of Palace beating us 2 - 4 in that infamous match. It's been posted before and got a feeling it's hidden within one of the 'Big Match' episodes introduced by the late Brian Moore with Terry Venables & Kenny Sansom as guests. Losing those last two home games was the definition of 'devestating' and two games that changed our history of what might have been under John Neal - possibly a case of 'the boots' on the other foot if we can win our next two games. |

I remember the Mansfield game well. I was a member of Gresford Colliery Silver Band and had the privilege of playing (tucked in the corner - we had no cheerleaders) during half-time. This was a huge day for me - I could watch stood on the hallowed turf rather than endure my dad's swearing at the ref on the Kop). We had 'Congratulations' all lined up ready to play at the final whistle...
