This is also my understanding. Being a club owner, either individually or collectively ( as per a fans owner club), brings with it a certain responsibility toward providing financial backing to ensure the progression of the club on and off the field.

Reading some of the comments criticising the lack of overall funding, particularly purchasing power when compared to other ownership models, leads me to believe that some don't quite grasp the situation that the fans, being owners, will of necessity require to be at the vanguard of funding progress.

Under fans ownership we always need to be the 'cash cow', an expression many relate to being the exploitation of the fans when finances are stretched. However they seem to overlook the fact that the fans are also the owners and therefore are expected to be the 'cash cow'. There are of course other means of support i.e. sponsorship, merchandising, services provided in house and providing facilities to third parties etc. But the brutal truth is, it's down to the 'owners' as would be expected if it was an individual owner.

In order to allay the existing criticism brought about by lack of progress and also put into place a long standing strategy for future meaningful development which has been seriously overlooked in the past, it would appear that under the current ownership model there seems a necessity to substantially increase sponsorship etc., together with additional WST membership and with it a greater contribution by the 'owners' by way of subscriptions and other forms of monetary assistance.
There is also the chance to invest some in to the playing budget to give us an advantage when it was needed while the league was at its weakest, that decision was not taken and we even choose to cut spending when the manager left by staying as we were when we needed that final push even though we received Compensation. Priorities are incorrect within the club at the moment and drastic changes are needed.

Invest what? We spend every penny we make and have had our biggest budget in years. There isn't some pot of money sat gaining interest.

Why are we signing reserves players from the league below to add to our squad if this is the case?

Players plural? Who else apart from Ainge meets this description? (And even that's it's inaccurate)

Can you tell me why we signed him? We might as well of carried on with massanka. What annoys me even more, rather than admit we made a poor signing, he gets a place on the bench every game. We could give a proper player that place instead.

Recruitment is a completely different argument and it hasn't been great. However, I was responding to Mustapha who said we should have invested more in the team. If we've only got 100k in the bank, which will be used to pay wages until season ticket income comes in, then there wasn't anything else to spend
