I knew that there was someone who posted that watched the youth but I couldn’t remember the name, wasn’t there a recent league win from a youth team bagger?

From you’re involvement where do most players go on to? Is it true that obviously scouts wait in the wings and as soon as they can the majority are taken with an ounce of talent?

We just need to find the right manager. Its that simple.

When we do all this will vanish. To be fair they gave DK the biggest budget so far under WST ownership and it wasn't far off getting us into the play offs. Luck just crapped on us again. Plus an inexperience manager signing duds in a few positions. He needed more time, clearly. I think had DK stayed we would have made the play off's though. It all fell to pieces pretty quickly after he'd gone.

We've made some bad moves no doubt but name a club that hasn't?

We're still got pull in this league.

This time next year we'll be in league two. Damn good ale this.
Good post Phil. Not sure about whether we’ll be in League 2 mind!

I don’t know what more the board can do. They appoint a manager who does well and gets poached. They try and maintain the status quo by appointing his number 2 until the end of the season but it doesn’t go right.

The same people who be bitching and moaning about the board had we appointed a new manager and we fell away.

On the point of us losing Keates, we did the same with Kevin Wilkin when his Nuneaton side were well set for a top 5 finish. They fell away so dramatically that we may have finished above them. But that’s football.

It’s now down to the board to appoint a new manager. I’m convinced they’ll make a sound appointment but then it’s down to him to sign some decent players.

I’d like them to look at managers who’ll get us scoring goals. A goal a game is not good for a club that is dependent on bums on seats.

A certain ex-manager would have been ideal if he hadn't sided with the asset strippers.
Exactly, forcibly removing the board will just create more problems, as there is no guarantee the type of person who will step up to replace them. If there are better people there waiting then why haven't they made themselves known or already applied to join the board?

For an example look at the mess up the road when their original board stepped away, the only people that took the reins were young lads with no business experience, and no backbone. Do we really want to follow suit?

All that needs to happen now is identify a manager who can build on the work that Keates started next season.

All I ask is a bit of openness and if I am true owner of the club to be able to decide who is on the board.
It should be a democratic process where members decide who should be on the board. There should be job descriptions so people understand what is expected from each member. Possibly each tenure would be for a set time say 2 years.
Members should set targets for the board to achieve so we all understand where we are going and if they are successful they get the plaudits and if they don't members can change the board

Having read the minutes and attended meetings it is clear that the board do attempt to work with KPI's . Known in the good old days as target setting and reviews (TS and R's)

Members can get involved with that by placing their own TS on the agenda for the next WST agm - then it might filter up to (or down to) the club board. Don't expect it to happen because there is probably to much apathy amongst the member base.

The trust AGM is now advertised.
You should put your suggestions/ proposals in writing for the members to decide on Monday 25th June. I know of at least one member who would support you and there are probably more.

Members decide who should be on the trust board and the trust board appoint the WAFC board. Personally don't see the problem in that as they know who has the skills and time required to do the job.
We do not appear to have a problem off the field, finances have steadily improved, catering, hospitality, advertising and commercial activity is contributing to the pot as will this Summers concert.
The challenge as everyone is aware is to get and keep the right manager and improve our fortunes on the field. Easier said than done but not for lack of trying.

I think all the ones complaining about the board need to stop and think for a moment, these are fellow fans who put in lot's of work for our club for nothing and want the same as everyone and that's success, of course they will make mistakes like any human being will, this persecution and abuse of them seems to be coming from fans moaning that we have collapsed on the field due to Davies & Darlington, let's get this straight with so little amount of games to go when Keates jumped ship it was the logical choice to put Davies and Darlington in temporary charge, the majority on here agreed with the decision, their was no guarantees it would work just like no guarantees if they had got another manager in at such short notice, it worked when Saunders left giving it to Morrell and it worked when Wilkin left with Darlington.

It has been obvious since January that we were on the slide yes unbeaten but rarely winning, the team has been to reliant on the defence no team that's in the bottom 4 clubs for goals scored is ever going to get promoted, so if Keates hadn't left I have my doubts we would of finished in the play offs as the other teams around us had sussed us out and had strengthened their side throughout the season, our ex manager wasn't good enough in the transfer market due to inexperience, the hullabaloo over wanting a player but then realising he had an agent who wanted his cut is a perfect example.

Sorry the buck lies with Keates not the board they and us fans backed him with BTB and he wasted it.
