I asked this at the AGM and the response I got was we didn't achieve promotion when Barry was on the board and they feel we are no worse off since he left

Factually correct PD, including your comment that the fans-owned model can't ENSURE a league winning team. But there again, no other model can ensure that either! For every model that does win this league, there are another 23 that don't win it, every season.

I fail to see why people are clamouring for a paid/voluntary Director of Football. What exact do they think that one of those can magic up that the right manager can't? If he's good enough to be DoF, he's good enough to be the manager, surely!

It's not going to be easier any time soon. The club's profit came from transfer add-ons and, if I understand the accounts, were a one-off not to be repeated.

Even less easy if fans say they have had enough, ST sales drop, pay at the gate is down, club rely on our great fans, they may think they been taken for granted for to long. This is a very important summer, could go either way.
