Saunders didn't really have an eye for a player did he?

We had a succession of duds before he assembled a good side eventually.

What he did do was bring in Glen Little who had the ability and know how to run the dressing room.
We need a player like that again.

But let’s face it all the fans have done is secure long term mediocrity for our grandchildren to support.

Money isn't everything in this division, forest green were the second longest serving club in this division before they finally went up. Macc have done it without megabucks.

Next year will be even tougher, Tran mere will spend as will the class of 92. As I and other have said we missed a trick by not pushing the budget out by 25/30% this year....next year will cost 150-200% budget increase for us to compete....and that won’t happen.

Those who criticise my point of view need to open there eyes and should understand probability.

Tranmere no longer have parachute payments, and have had to close their academy. If they don't go up this season they may not have too much to spend. Salford will spend, you're correct there. If we push the budget beyond our means we go bust (or do you want to ignore what happens to clubs like Chester who do just that)

Any view is open to criticism. There is absolutely no link between budget and promotion. Or even really spending money and promotion. It is one factor. If it was the case then the likes of Forest Green would have gone up automatically, instead of via the playoffs. Tranmere too. And Macclesfield would have been closer to relegation than champions. And before you come back to me about understanding probability, I do thanks. I studied it at Uni as parts of my BSc Mathematics degree course. I'll explain it to you if you'd like. (BTW this isn't saying my view here is better than yours, just that the 'understand probability' comment is a crock of bull
