Have we got one?

There have been a number of worrying trends this season, particularly over the last few weeks since the departure of Keates, but the most concerning must be the lack of players coming through from the Centre of Exellence.
Okay, our better prospects have been sold on before playing for the club, but surely the CoE should be able to produce players capable of playing at Conference level. Of the two most recent products, Leo Smith is in limbo, a forgotten man and Ollie Marx is out on loan, after them Who?

On the appointment of Keates and Andy Davies, I had hoped that there would be better integration between the youth teams and the first team squad but this does not seem to be the case. None of the present squad came through the ranks, we cannot afford to keep bringing players in, especially as has been proved recently, players not adequate to get us out of this league.

The CoE costs money to run, the club cannot afford to waste money. It must either produce a profit by selling on young prospects to other clubs or regularly produce players good enough for our team, currently it is doing neither. There is something fundamentally wrong with our system.

Depends how you define young. The PFA consider Harry Kane a young player!

That is truly baffling. The lad needs to play, and I cant believe he couldn't help out a team in the wpl, or conf north or even the level below that.

Agreed, Olly Marx was sent out to southport. Can't see why Leo couldn't be sent out for development. That is of course unless it's him that doesn't want to go.

WPL teams wanted him on loan and he wasn’t allowed to go out by Keates.Leo wanted to go out on loan
Why hasn’t he been given a chance?? He isn’t any worse than some of the players currently playing

If it wasn’t in profit it would have been closed surley?? How do you know it isn’t in profit ?
