I don't want to annoy anyone who is still angry at the great last minute collapse but this has been a better season than the last two. I also think the next manager can come in to find some good things.

1. Our goalkeeper is quite good.
2. Our fullbacks are quite good. I know Jennings is Marmite but he has done some good things, and both fullbacks have been part of a lot of clean sheets.
3. Our central defence is very good, not perfect, they aren't Maldini but the consensus is they're the best bit of the team.
4. Wedgbury and Wright are good and can be part of a solid midfield that wouldn't let us down.
5. Holroyd will hopefully stay and is very good.
6. Rutherford is Marmite but I think he's quite good.
7. Olly Marx, Raven, and Carrington are quite good.
We are two very good players short (Striker and centre midfield). I think that's a really good return for a season of new players.

The budget for next year will be good. We probably ended up with too many players for our limited budget, but fortunately there is plenty of scope to shift players. I think the crowds may suffer slightly next season due to the disgust at the failure to gain promotion, but that feeling can be wiped away with a good start.

Deverdics contracted, would like to see him get a run in his favoured advanced central role - but a kick in the arse needed.

Undecided on Quiqley, can look cumbersome and greedy - would like to see him with a partner and feed off better through-ball service from Deverdics and new wide men.

Transfer list the others that are contracted & hope someone comes in for them.

Release the others.

Not an easy task at all - but time to be ruthless. Build a strong, competitive core and supplement with a little pace, guile and goalscoring.

Let’s hope we find someone who can do this...
