Let's say I owe tax man or anyone else money. Do I wait to pay it if I have the money to do so? Or do I buy a new sofa and new TV maybe a car? So that in return I end up having to give it all back and lose everything?

Maybe they had assets to put against the debt. We don't have assets due to the whole mess that started our decline.
