I honestly think we expect too much as fans and maybe where we are is our actual position now, I think most could see we were riding our luck for a large part of the season and the table mislead our real team quality.

Compared to last seasons team it was an improvement but it was never going to be difficult to improve on bakare.

I know the board are fans I have never disagreed with that and they 100% are doing what they feel are right with the club. It just seems to be the same people on here who won’t have anything said against the model but at the end of the day we are all trying to support the same cause. Flummpadink pointing out the commercial side of the club ie the shop has more stock than it ever has etc others saying the club has never been ran better BUT where are we going wrong is all I’m pointing out. If we are so exceptionally ran why do we need a build the budget to finish mid table look at the end of season standings for the last 5 years they aren’t really very different values.

Well they continued to manage the debt, they didn’t just pay it off with everything they had and then struggle to sign a centreback like n’tame like we did.

Look at the struggle we have been through on the back of trips to Wembley, my point quayred is we did it just to broadcast progress but in reality it set us back a few years. You speculate too accumulate not clear everything and just hope everything is okay.

I’m extremely frustrated with all of it now the evidence is there just look at any final league table after the wst gain control, I think where we are now alongside running costs is where we are and that’s what our current budget and geographical position can get us compared to southern teams.
CrazyW, Found this on Facebook. Food for thought eh! No philanthropic millionaires out there bud!

"Its a bit disturbing to be reading the bile directed at the people on the Club and Trust boards. They are fans like us, they have jobs and families like us.

And yet they find time to run a professional football club and a members organisation with over 3000 members.

We have owned the club for just 7 years. In that time we have

- cleared off the clubs debts
- balanced the books
- taken back control of the stadium
- developed a new training ground
- increased our revenues
- rebuilt relations with the local community

None of this is worthy of abuse.

So the questions are these.

When you have driven these good people away who will run your club ?

Where are they now ?

In 1977 we lost our last 3 home games to miss out on promotion. There were over 20,000 fans at each game.

Nobody called the players "bottlers" or "dogshit". Nobody abused the board and stated that they were "clueless cestrians".

The Board then took the "cheap option" and appointed Arfon and the rest is history.

Stop this mindless whining and get behind the club. It belongs to all of us.

We will be going through this same argument again next year.

The Board appoint the Manager.... and your Point is ?

the fact is When Keates was appointed not many was against it (i personally didnt want Keates) .

When Mills was Appointed... MANY was happy with it

When Wilkin was Appointed ... Many was happy with it (although some discontent)

When Morrel was apointed ... Many was Happy

When Davies and Darlington was appointed short term when Keates left.. Many agreed that long term they wasnt the answer... but short term for 8 games.. for Stability , Continuity and Routine within the squad considering where we was in the league and to avoid upheaval MANY was happy with it.

now... the facts....

the Facts that the above managers for one reason or another did not get us promoted... that doesnt mean the Board failed.. the last few managers as pointed out above many of the fanbase (to the point from reading social media , the Majority was happy with the managerial appointments) was happy wth them.

Hindsight is a wonderfull thing.... unfortunatly we dont have a crystal ball or time machine to go ahead in time and see if things will work out. Blaming anybody using hindsight in my opinion is patheric and ridiculous in this case.

same for folks who bemoaned Keates signings.. id say the vast majority of Keates signings was welcomed by the majority of the fanbase as a potentially v good signing.. yet because they didnt play well enough.. or well underperformed is not Keates fault.

January signings are a prime example.. many said we need a striker and midfielders.

We signed Franks and Deverdics in the middle.. BOTH of which came with good reuptation and at the time of signing many was very happy and content that they could/should improve the squad

We also signed Ainge and Quiggley... both again of which came here with bags of potential

the fact they alll havent made any impact (Quiggley aside) is not Keates fault.. yet many posters continuously bring up january signings.. and are making thei comments and thoughts based purely of hindsight. and not the general feeling of those signings ar the time.

if we signed Messi and Bale tomorrow..the fans would be euphoric...but if they came and played crap for us.. people would slate the manager and the board for signing crap players!

COE players promoted out of their depth and lauded as one of our own.

No continuity, short term contracts, no spine to the team. To cap it all this season players that could not hit a cows arse with a banjo.

A few 2 year deals this year have improved us defensively but where was our midfield general, where was our centre forward FFS.

Its ok everyone spouting xbox football manager comments but its not hard to see mediocrity at best, very little leadership, petulance and generally performances that are so poor that capitulation is no surprise.

Another managerial appointment on its way and the WAFC board have had plenty of time to review all the quality candidates, from all levels of football but who will they saddle us with next (no pun intended).

Here we go again with another summer of whose who and long periods of total inactivity and a sudden bargain basement influx. Sign Tom Hanks at least he was a good castaway!

We must be allowed to question why poor players are allowed to continue to play without some of the vitriol on here, especially when season after season those judgements are proven right.

Lets see what another season holds with the simple thought that performances lead to results not the other way round.

This league cannot be won with players trying to snatch 1-0 wins. Quality over quantity, spine of the team and only use loan players who improve the starting 11 and not just warming the bench are start points.

I like this rant because you absolutely nail what's the problem on the playing side at this club, I'm beginning to think that our scouting is done off you tube hence our poor signings, they could make Ainge look like Harry Kane on there instead he instead he looks more like Harry Worth (those of an older generation will know who I mean) i don't think players are being scouted properly, their backgrounds checked out E.G The first signing this season of Keates "The drunk millionaire" most of Mills signings etc.
The fans have now started looking at poor to average players as being good because they run around a lot covering every blade of grass but when it comes to actual football as you say Pagl couldn't trap a bag of cement and couldn't pass a parcel, ok we're in non league I appreciate that we aren't going to sign top quality players but we should be signing players capable of doing the basics and capable of playing at this level and above, most of Keates signings would struggle in National North/South.

Instead of a team of failed at other clubs journeymen why can't we look at a few young players released from football league clubs or even the Premier we have Liverpool Everton (Barry Hornes club, why no loans from there when Horne was here) Man U/City, Stoke, Aston Villa etc etc we need to be more professional in our choice of manager this getting in a manager who knows the lower league don't seem to be working we need an experienced manager who's has managed higher with an assistant manager who's knows the lower leagues that way you spread the knowledge of available footballers at all levels, we have become a non league club who only looks at our pitiful level, that shows a lack of ambition to move on up to think more professional to me.
