Not a valid comparison , every Premier League club is guaranteed countless millions before a ball is kicked. Gate receipts are usually a small part of their income apart from Man U and a few others.
However many people are watching conference games is irrelevant ( look at Macclesfield) it's how well players are recruited and organised , that is where we have fallen down this season.

the fact is When Keates was appointed not many was against it (i personally didnt want Keates) .

When Mills was Appointed... MANY was happy with it

When Wilkin was Appointed ... Many was happy with it (although some discontent)

When Morrel was apointed ... Many was Happy

When Davies and Darlington was appointed short term when Keates left.. Many agreed that long term they wasnt the answer... but short term for 8 games.. for Stability , Continuity and Routine within the squad considering where we was in the league and to avoid upheaval MANY was happy with it.

now... the facts....

the Facts that the above managers for one reason or another did not get us promoted... that doesnt mean the Board failed.. the last few managers as pointed out above many of the fanbase (to the point from reading social media , the Majority was happy with the managerial appointments) was happy wth them.

Hindsight is a wonderfull thing.... unfortunatly we dont have a crystal ball or time machine to go ahead in time and see if things will work out. Blaming anybody using hindsight in my opinion is patheric and ridiculous in this case.

same for folks who bemoaned Keates signings.. id say the vast majority of Keates signings was welcomed by the majority of the fanbase as a potentially v good signing.. yet because they didnt play well enough.. or well underperformed is not Keates fault.

January signings are a prime example.. many said we need a striker and midfielders.

We signed Franks and Deverdics in the middle.. BOTH of which came with good reuptation and at the time of signing many was very happy and content that they could/should improve the squad

We also signed Ainge and Quiggley... both again of which came here with bags of potential

the fact they alll havent made any impact (Quiggley aside) is not Keates fault.. yet many posters continuously bring up january signings.. and are making thei comments and thoughts based purely of hindsight. and not the general feeling of those signings ar the time.

if we signed Messi and Bale tomorrow..the fans would be euphoric...but if they came and played crap for us.. people would slate the manager and the board for signing crap players!
So why did Keates bring back Massanka we could all see he was pathetic the first time around,he played for us 26 times and please do not say he was a cheap option as he was our main striker.

I don't get this blame shifting to the fans
It simply doesn't matter how many were pleased with what managerial appointments, if they were poor appointments they were poor appointments. Not sure how or who appointed them is debatable.
No malice towards anyone intended .

Look at the struggle we have been through on the back of trips to Wembley, my point quayred is we did it just to broadcast progress but in reality it set us back a few years. You speculate too accumulate not clear everything and just hope everything is okay.
We inherited an unmanageable debt and excessive running costs.
The club and Trust have no borrowing capacity. We as a club are not in a position to speculate to accumulate.
All the available funds were given to the manager.

Lutons position was entirely different to ours.
They were taken over by a consortium of fans who were able to steer the club out of the doldrums, Wembley appearances and cup runs also helped their finances as did selling players.
They also had a pretty solid 7000 fan base. It still wasn't plain sailing for them and until Jon Still was appointed they were stuck in the basement for a few years.

And yet they find time to run a professional football club and a members organisation with over 3000 members.

We have owned the club for just 7 years. In that time we have

- cleared off the clubs debts
- balanced the books
- taken back control of the stadium
- developed a new training ground
- increased our revenues
- rebuilt relations with the local community

None of this is worthy of abuse.

So the questions are these.

When you have driven these good people away who will run your club ?

Where are they now ?

In 1977 we lost our last 3 home games to miss out on promotion. There were over 20,000 fans at each game.

Nobody called the players "bottlers" or "dogshit". Nobody abused the board and stated that they were "clueless cestrians".

The Board then took the "cheap option" and appointed Arfon and the rest is history.

Stop this mindless whining and get behind the club. It belongs to all of us.
How do we know there are none out there if we haven't taken steps to invite some to make offers???

And, absolutely, none of this is worthy of any abuse.

You don't know how they will perform when you appoint them though so at the time they are not poor appointments.

Most managers have been sacked from their previous appointment if available though so they are all a gamble.

I wasnt a massanka fan... but then again a fair few on here was happy with Massanka here as a bench player.

and he was never here as our "main striker2 boden and holroyd was always supossed to be before them.. holroyd was injured for much of start of season.

reid and miller was also before massanka.... inuries to other players and bad form (after as said above they came here with good credentials) . the fact they may not of performed and massanka started isnt a reasont o point blame

but every single manager bar non signs players that dont perform.. mourhinio .. fergie .. guardiola ... the lot of them have all signed players that didnt perform for their teams.. its part and parcel of football.

and those parts of football far too many use as an exscuse to moan and be negative.

dont get me wrong im not happy with how the seasons seems to of ended... but im not gonna slate the club and everything about it in a knee jerk reaction way the same way many are.
