In fairness l think Keates tried to do what I'm referring to last season , and in Pearson and Wedgbury got it right . It's not about budget it's about recruitment . A Manager on the touchline who puts the fear of God into the players , and commands desire , and work ethic , instead of someone standing there with as much passion as Alan Carr cage fighting will not get you promotion . It's just my opinion 😉

At this point in time it's a bit difficult to make an argument for Pearson to manage the club. He has been part of the this incredible slump that we are currently in. A decent CB and definitely committed but does he have the ability to lift the team out of the doldrums. As captain during the current collapse it appears not. He seems to be driven by his emotion and maybe it is a bit of a weakness.

If he gets a chance as a player coach under a more experienced manager he may make a decent option in the future. He may also need to be a little bit more level headed as he tends to get a little bit over enthusiastic in his protestations to referees; which has been pointed out regularly on RP.

With regards Pearson get him on a 1 year extension now even before the new manager. Lets show the fans we do mean business.

Surely Pearson may only be Keates mark two. Full of passion, combative but, in the end, lacking a certain nous which is needed for the more complex role which is management. Motivation is not just just about shouting and threatening but also about personal skills, experience, humour and a whole host of additional factors, many of which fans will possibly never see.
