Out of interest do you think there is much chance Keates would have got us promoted with the squad we have?

To me appointing Davies may have cost us the play offs, but poor recruitment (nothing to do with Davies) cost us promotion.

Everything with the club went downhill when Keates left. I thought as a worst case scenario we could have 0-0’d our way into a playoff spot and tried our luck in that. Management had no plan, players were lost, board sat on their hands.

The only people who did well for the club post Keates were the fans. When you can turn an away match into a home match by outnumbering the home supporters you know you got something special.

A lot of our problems after Keates left such as not scoring goals and an inability to beat the best teams were also problems before he left.

January and beyond when our player recruitment was abysmal. We had the chance to make additions and push on. We ended up with Deverdics, Franks and Ainge.

The recruitment was also average preseason. Bodens inability to score was very costly.

I disagree. This gives Keates too much credit. The wheels were coming off before he left. You can’t grind your way to promotion with anti-football. If you use grinding tactics you are the ones who usually get ground down. You can never rest players or mentally relax at any time so the collapse was inevitable. The style of football has been horrendous all season

Losing Keats was a blow but not sure it can be the factor that cost us. We haven’t lost any of our best players during the season, the players already knew andy Davies so there has been no unfamiliar face brought in to run the show. No major injuries. Clearly the players have just downed tools and have massively let the fans down imo. Borderline disgraceful, major bollockings need to happen
