Keep it neutral, don't big things up, don't set yourself up for a fall and all that.

The PR from the club is a little OTT at times and really doesn't help them, just increases the pressure.

It sounds better when Spencer chucks his spin into it...

We’ve had “people that have managed in the champions league apply”.

Why not hire a bus, with #flagday, #target10000, or #lineisdrawn, or whatever other bollocks the club come out with and drive it round the town to drum up support.

Off topic I know but, in what way is the club thriving off field? Our youth setup is shite according to a few on here, we train on a council pitch, we have a three sided ground that is falling to bits, and we sell football shirts that lose their logo in the wash.

The only good things I can see is the 1864 suite seems popular, as does bamfords. I can’t see much else. The pies are local.

I do agree that they need to manage expectations better and drop some of the hype, but can imagine the flack if they downplayed the quality of candidates also.

I wish they'd stop all this PR crap, it's embarassing. You can't have good public relations with your fans if you serve up dog shit every sat. It's like over hyping the goods you sell in a shop when the product is awful.

A decent side competing, playing decent football is all you need for better 'PR'.

We seriously need to look at getting Colliers back, because like Pearson said " Dean got me to sign before showing me around the 'training ground "

Like I say keep it nuetral, by all means tell people we've had applications already and outline a plan.

Don't go making comments about the credentials of the applicants, only the chosen ones credentials should be mentioned once appointed.

Makes it far easier to manage 'cheap option', More experienced candidates' etc comments.

Some will moan whatever, that's football.

Most of the vocal members of the forum don't seem keen to me on Ricketts, so personally if it is him, I've got a very good feeling we'll reach the promised land under him.

So it's looking like Sam Rickettsia then. My first thoughts were "really" and who does he know that play at this level. Is he going to rely on agents for his recruiting ?
I'm thinking people are saying "I'm not sure about this" but if this is the case we have to give this lad our support and see were it takes us.

I say we keep appointing ex players who played at a decent level as they're clearly cheap and we're bound to drop lucky with one of them.
Pagl, long term strategy sorted.
